The National Population Commission Staff Cooperative Thrift and Loan Society Limited was duly registered on 11th November, 2002 in Abuja. It was established with the vision of enhancing the economic welfare of staff by promoting a strong savings culture and supporting members in achieving financial stability during their years of active service and beyond retirement.
Initially, membership was drawn from the Headquarters and the FCT–Abuja State Office; however, over time, the Cooperative has expanded its coverage to more states of the Federation, thereby extending its benefits to staff nationwide.
The Cooperative remains firmly committed to providing affordable and accessible financial services, promoting financial literacy among its members, and fostering a culture of cooperation, solidarity, and mutual support. These commitments have translated into notable achievements over the years.
Among its key accomplishments are the consistent payment of dividends every January, ensuring that members directly benefit from the collective success of the Cooperative. The Society has also introduced a flexible loan disbursement system, enabling members to access loans based on fund availability rather than being restricted to salary payment periods. In response to members’ welfare needs, welfare and food loans are offered at lower interest rates and are repayable within three months, providing timely support during challenging periods.
